South Elementary School

Mrs. Orlandi

The workshop model includes direct teaching, partner and group learning/practice, independent practice, and assessment.

A typical math lesson consists of quick, mental math reviews of previous learning, the lesson itself (see above for style), and small group, partner, or independent learning activities including journal exercises (workbook activities).  Fun and motivating mathematical games are also played to help reinforce math concepts. Your child should be practicing his/her math facts every night using the Mad Minute worksheets. We begin with addition and move to subtraction, then multiplication and division. We test for growth every Friday. Please contact me if you'd like more information.
