One of the main goals in our classroom this year is to create a welcoming classroom community where each child feels safe to take academic risks. Students come to school each day with positive attitudes towards learning and working with others. Activities such as, Crew and cooperative work groups, help to build a classroom where all students feel safe physically, emotionally, and socially.
Each day the students participate in a Crew Meeting. During this 15-30 minute meeting, students participate in a greeting, a reading , group initiative, and debrief.
