Goals of the Reading Program
Goals of The Windsor Locks Reading Program
The first goal is to help each student become a self-directed, strategic reader and writer. Strategic readers and writers are successful when they:

Determine a purpose for reading and writing.

Decide how to approach the task.

Monitor their own understanding.

Apply their reading and writing skills and strategies.
The second goal, no less important than the first, is to help each student become a life-long reader and writer.
