Hello! I’m Ms. Hofmann; U.S. History Teacher- Grade 8.
I just wanted to introduce myself to those that do not know me and give you a little bit of information about me…
I have been in the field of teaching for 15 years to date. I spent 6 years in Stamford, CT teaching grade 8 United States History. I came to Windsor Locks nine years ago to teach history and cannot believe how quickly the time has just flown by!
So where was I before that?
Well, I grew up on Long Island about 5 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. From what I can remember, most of my childhood was spent at the beach and outdoors. When I graduated from high school I went on to earn my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Movement/Sports Science from Sacred Heart University. While there, I played on the Division 2 Women’s Soccer Team for 3 years. Just before I graduated I had what some people call, “A True Calling to Teaching.” I took a history class in my last semester of college and I enjoyed it so much that I decided right there to become a history teacher. I graduated and went back to school the following year double majoring in Education and History. In 2001, I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Education. From there I attained my first teaching job with the Stamford Public Schools.
For six years I taught 8th grade History in Stamford, CT. I also coached the J.V. Girls Soccer Team at Westhill High School for 5 years. My time spent there was extremely valuable. I learned lifelong lessons that have helped to guide me through all my years of teaching. I am very excited to bring new, meaningful experiences to my students here at WLMS! I have a lot to offer and truly love what I do.
