WELCOME!

It is my mission to cultivate a creative environment, within my classroom, for my students to feel safe in the exploration of their new and original ideas and to be nurtured in the process. I want to guide my students in their understanding and in their appreciation of cultural, historical and personal significance of Visual Art through the rigorous and creative thought processes of description, analysis, interpretation and evaluation. As well as facilitate their learning and expression of techniques and skills within a broad range of mediums.

It is my vision that my students will be able to originate new and exciting ideas and be able to employ those ideas in various mediums using traditional and contemporary techniques and materials.  In my role as an art educator, it is important to me to impress upon my students the importance of visual communication both culturally, historically and in our daily personal lives.  I want to engage my students in actively participating in those visual conversations through expression, description, analysis, interpretation and evaluation. It is my vision that my students will take risks with their ideas and feel safe in their exploration of those ideas.
