Concert Band

The WLHS Concert Band is open to students with brass, woodwind, and percussive instrumental music experience.  This course may be repeated for credit.

The WLHS Concert Band consists of three families of music instruments: Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion.  Instruction is offered in the knowledge and skills necessary for performance in a variety of musical styles.  Students are required to attain a basic level of instrumental proficiency for participation in concert performances.  The Concert Band rehearses each day.  Group instruction is offered at sectional meeting scheduled during open periods.  The Concert Band performs at all WLHS Music Department concerts and the Marching Raider Band performs in a minimum of two parades per year.  Attendance at all scheduled performances is expected.  Marching Band parade attendance is expected in accordance with the WLHS Music Department policy.  Students that would like to participate in extra-curricular activities, e.g. Jazz Band, Rhythm Section, Senior Combo, etc., are required to participate in Concert Band unless other arrangements are made with director's approval.
