Welcome to my web page!  I am an occupational therapist, and I work with students in all the schools here in Windsor Locks.  As an occupational therapist, I have the privilege of helping children to maximize success in their roles (or occupations) as student, learner, and friend.  Developing awareness of the different senses (especially vision, touch, proprioception-position sense, and vestibular-movement sense), and increasing fine motor, visual motor and visual perception skills is one of the ways that OT helps kids.  Working with teachers and staff to make any changes needed in the learning environment to achieve success is another.

I've enjoyed working in the public schools since 1996.  I have a bachelor of science degree in Human Development from the University of Connecticut, and a master of science and certificate of advanced graduate study in Occupational Therapy from Springfield College.

While my services as an occupational therapist are typically delivered to students through the auspices of the special education program, I also have the opportunity to get to know many students here at North Street School.  I strive to visit as many classroom as possible throughout the school year, providing lessons in such topics as the "basics" of how to hold a pencil , to the "road rules of writing", and strategies for kids to stay alert while in class. I look forward to another year of adventure!
