Teachers have a simple way to match kids with the reading difficulty of a book. You too can help your child find his or her "just right" book. Ask your child to read a page from a book. Every time he stumbles or skips a word, put up a finger. If all five fingers are up by the end of the page, that book is too hard. If less than five words are missed, it is likely to be appropriate for your child.
Your child will bring home a "just right" book from their book box every night to practice. Please take the time to enjoy a story with them!
