Family-School Partnership Team Meeting - Elementary
Exciting things will be happening in our district starting in January 2020 and I would love for you to join our team.
Over the course of January 2020 through June 2020, we will be creating our district’s definition of and guidelines for family-school partnerships (FSP). This work will be carried out by building-level Family-School Partnership teams (FSPTs) made up of teachers and families (i.e. parents, guardians, and/or significant caregivers). The end result will look similar to this .
We need you to join our team! If you join us, this is what your time and work commitment will look like:
-
We will meet once a month (January 7, February 4, March 3, April 7, May 5, & June 9) after school for 90 minutes (3:30 PM to 5:00 PM). Hearty snacks will be served and free childcare (for students at North & South) will be available at every meeting.
-
During these meetings, we will discuss the foundations of FSP (Jan 7), formulate definition and guidelines (Feb 4, Mar 3, Apr 7), finalize definition & guidelines (May 5 & June 9).
-
You and your team members are welcome, but not obligated to meet in between meetings in order to further develop the definition and guidelines.
-
The definition and framework will be presented to the Board of Education for review on Thursday, May 14, at the regular BOE meeting. If the BOE has any suggestions for revisions, those revisions will be made at the June 9th meeting.
This may look like a lot of work, but I promise you that you will be part of a team and we will do it all together. I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to build something meaningful with you and can’t wait to get started!
