WLMS Star Party
Friday night the stars will be out. Join us on the back field to use telescopes to observe Mars, the god of war and the waxing gibbous moon. Mr. Condon's 8th grade iBlock students will help you learn to navigate across the sky by identifying the constellations. Learn the story from the ancient greeks as to how the constellations formed. Learn to identify important stars, like Betleguess, a red giant 650 times larger than our sun.
The Star Party starts at 8pm and will run to 9:30
Bring along your friend, parents, and even your little brother. All students will need to be accompanied by an adult. It will be dark, so bring a flashlight or two, we’ll provide you with some red cellophane to protect your eyes.
