Overview

Background:

For this project, you will become a member of a research team who can:

  • examine an issue related to advances in DNA technology in the 21st century
  • assess the credibility of references in an annotated bibliography
  • create and presents an informative video to garner interest and awareness on your topic
  • facilitate a meaningful class discussion

Getting Started:

As you begin your research, you may find it helpful to have a place to start.  Below I have listed the Dewey Decimal Classification Numbers for the overarching topics of research.  I have also included a list of key terms you can enter in your search engine or search bar.

Getting Started:

The following online resources can be used two ways.   

  1. Generate a list of search terms.
  2. Locate information needed for your research.

Simply follow the directions next to the links.

 

   
Once you have logged in to General OneFile: Use the Topic Finder Tab on the right hand side of the tool bar.

Use the Topic Finder Search Bar to look up your key terms.

A pinwheel will generate on the left hand side with more terms that you can add to your list. 

Articles for each term will also appear.

The books listed below are reference or EBooks and are a good place to start your research.  They will provide overviews of the topic, allowing you to build a basic understanding of the topic.

  • Introduces stem cell research issues and examines the pros and cons of the debate.
